OCPP CSS is a Charging Station Management System (CSMS) that allows for the provision of Electric Vehicle charging services, the formation of charging station networks, the setting of tariffs, and the issuance of bills for charging services.

The Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is the industry-supported de facto standard for communication between a Charging Station and a Charging Station Management System (CSMS) and is designed to accommodate any type of charging technique.

The goal for Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is to offer a uniform solution for the method of communication between charge point and central system. With this protocol it is possible to connect any central system with any charge point, regardless of the vendor. A uniform standard prevents all kinds of coordination problems and is therefore an advantage for the whole electric vehicle market.
